Pienaardam in Middleburg was the host for the 2nd round of the Farm Jam series, conditions were wet and slippery and the event was a mud fest.
The Masters class is the biggest field on the day with just shy of 40 competitors wanting to get the first corner after the flag drop. My start was not what was planned and left me a few positions from the sharp end of the field, with that many bikes trying to get around the marker there was bound to be falls. Luckily we managed to get through the first turn without an issue and take the lead until the finish and finish on the top step a few minutes ahead of a hard charging pack.
The course was well marked but after the 5th lap after so many bikes having churned up the track conditions were a bit tougher with deep ruts forming in all the mash sections.
The pit crew were excellent making the two refuels and google stops really fast and efficient.
Thanks for the support, a good one to have won on the day and represent Key Nutrition.
